2011 Jaguar XJ: First Drive
JALOPNIK REVIEWS

...From the side, sweeping arcs and clean lines remind you of most Audis. From the rear, swooping taillights and broad trunk make the car look vaguely French. At the front, you notice the two round xenon refelectors in each headlight, a design cue shared with the XF and the previous XJ. And then you take a step back... and the whole thing kind of works. It looks British, it looks elegant, and while it occasionally seems a bit forced, it looks modern... Read More

The XJ sedan has been the stately staple of the Jaguar brand since 1968. First Drive: 2011 Jaguar XJ
MOTOR TREND
This car isn't kidding. The dramatic new shape speaks of a shift in direction for the XJ nameplate; the driving experience follows up on the promise. It's true that the previous XJ had an aluminum body and roughly the same chassis architecture, so you could argue this is little more than a reskin and a repowering. But in the first few yards, you realize it represents a comprehensive rethink of what a large Jaguar luxury sedan should be.

Jaguar Performs Like a Coupe

The 2010 Jaguar XF four door looks like and performs like a coupe. Some consumers, me included, prefer the smooth lines and performance of a coupe, but family obligations necessitate room and easy access to rear seats typically found in a sedan.

If you can cover the XF's sticker ($61,800 to $85,300), Jaguar has a sedan in the XF and XFR that might interest you.

2011 Jaguar XJ, a Flash Drive

This is the latest version of Jaguar's flagship luxury-performance sedan, designed this time around for a little more sportiness. Though you could find more than a few chassis similarities beneath the truly all-new skin, Jaguar thinks there is enough newness here to warrant the obligatory all-new label on its 2011 XJ.

2010 Jaguar XKR Coupe, a Drivers Log
AUTO WEEK
This car is absolutely fabulous, in appearance and performance, but then at $102,000--with $5,000 worth of special wheels--it probably should be. But seriously folks, the Ian Callum styling job on this car is pure automotive art, as it should be with a Jag. From virtually any angle, the car is a beauty, but I especially like the work on the powerful rear haunches and the view out over the tautly creased hood.

Passionate About Their Cars

"Jaguar is not a high-volume brand that tries to stretch its appeal across different price point - it is a niche, value-oriented player," adds Squitieri.

Jaguars have a certain mystique that attracts the most discerning customers. So when an opportunity arose to purchase the Madison dealership, Dennis Squitieri scooped it up. "Our location in Bergen County has been selling only Jaguars for 50 years, and we realized that Madison was an area that also truly understood and loved the car," he says. "The two location - Bergen and Madison - have been neck and neck in the top national rankings in terms of sales and customer satisfaction for years."

Squitieri, the dealer/principal of Madison and Bergen Jaguar, says the term "dealership" is also a bit of a misnomer. Rather, a Jaguar dealership would be better described as a customer-oriented luxury automotive boutique. To further this experience, Madison is undergoing an extensive renovation that will consolidate service, parts and sales into one showroom facility that will make any visit a more intimate experience. In addition, Madison Jaguar expects to be holding a number of customer events and clinics as well as a grand opening in the near future.
