Comparison: 2012 Audi A7 vs. 2011 Jaguar XJ vs. 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS550
MOTOR TREND

If these three cars were suits, I'd walk around wearing the Jag. As good-looking as I find the new A7 -- love the hatch -- it simply can't compete with the XJ...

...As Evans observed, all three scream, "I've got money!" But only the Jaguar can say, "Taste, too." Read More

DJH, from Springfield, Ill., is certainly a fan of his new 2011 Jaguar XJL . In fact, no German carmaker even comes close to what you get for the price of the Jag, says DJH. The XJL is a long-wheelbase variant of the XJ sedan; this reader thinks the added space offers great rear legroom. Cars.com senior editor David Thomas contemplated working from a recent loaner's rear seats, too. Read More

Jaguar XJ: Get ready to be seen
DRIVE

Jaguar no longer slavishly imitates past styling. Its new designs are thoroughly modern, but do pay homage to the past. The front grille comes straight from the 1968 XJ6. The rounded greenhouse appropriates its shape from the sexy XK coupe, while its thin supports contrast with the substantial lower body, a constant in Jaguar design. Read More

First, I'd like to express my sympathy for whatever embossed little creatures Jaguar uses to upholster the upper deck of this car, the Jaguar XJ Supersport. It's a dappled, caramel-and-coffee kind of skin, perhaps a jungle cat, perhaps crocodile, though it hardly matters since whatever it is will soon be rooming with the dodo.

2010 Jaguar XJ and XJL Review
EXECUTIVE ROAD WARRIOR

The front seats are sublime and suitable for marathon long-distance driving sessions. Some passengers complained about the supersized transmission tunnel, which has the unfortunate effect of making the cabin feel more confined that it actually is, but I found that aspect of the interior quite roomy. Despite the coupe-like appearance, the rear seats are exceptionally roomy as well.

Panamera Turbo vs. Supercharged Jaguar XJL
MONTREAL GAZETTE

Every once in awhile I'm completely blown away by a vehicle. And on very, very rare occasions I'm blown away by two. Such is the case with the Porsche Panamera Turbo and the Jaguar XJL Supercharged. These two cars left me with my jaw on the ground and a sparkle in my eye; just what these cars are meant to do. Both offer a unique ride and experience, despite their class rivalry. So, I decided to pit them against one another in a feat of strength and practicality. I was pleasantly surprised by the results.

I was looking for a word or phrase to describe the 2011 Jaguar XJ that is similar to the way we use "home run" here in the Colonies, figuring something from cricket would be fitting for a vehicle from an Indian-owned British automaker. Apparently no such colloquialism exists. Literally, the closest thing is something called a "six-ball over," but it isn't commonly used in this context and, in any case, sounds a bit offensive. Instead, I'll simply call the XJ "smashing"
